advice?

I am thinking about dying my hair!  This is big for me considering I had a really bad experience in high school and haven't done anything like that since.
But I'm ready for a little change. maybe. So that's why I'm coming to you!
[of course]

Any suggestions?
I don't want to go too crazy and probably not anything lighter than caramel-tone highlights. Or should I go for a dark shade of red lowlights?

HELP!

Highlights are a good starting point if you're not really ready to commit to full color. Ask your stylist for suggestions! They always know what will look best on you :)

Good luck!

I think some caramel color peekaboo highlights would be really cute!

Subtle highlights are a good start, I agree! Other advice I would love to share is don't go too drastic at first. And make sure you go to a reputable salon as well as a reputable colorist. xo

Since you are a little unsure of it, I would go with red lowlights if you want some color. Red won't last very long and they'll fade so you won't have to worry about getting them re-done or getting your hair dyed to get back to your natural shade. I did caramel the first time and after a few years, I had to dye my hair since I wasn't retouching them. I definitely won't be doing that again (it has finally grown out).

I love red though in my hair and I think you would too - I also have dark hair. Just ask your stylist what color would go best, I usually get one that isn't too far from my spectrum so it will stand out but also look natural.
