Sometimes..

{boots: can't remember, jeans: pacsun, tank: AE, sweater: old navy, vest: hollister, jewelry: gift}

...I like awkward moments. In fact, sometimes I like to create them because I can see
how hilarious they will be.

...I like to light a candle when it's raining and turn off all the lights and just listen.

...I wish I had a sweet accent.

...I want to conquer my fear of heights. That usually lasts about 5.3 seconds.

...I buy, hide and eat a whole bag of M&Ms.

...I worry that I will never make it out of school alive and that I won't be able to apply my
knowledge in real life. (thankfully my work at the hospital has put that fear to rest!)

...I just need to have a good cry.

...I want an exotic pet. Ya know, like a tiger or something!

...I treat myself to a whole night of movies, manicures and playing catch-up on celeb gossip.

What about YOU?!

by the way, are you going to watch the royal wedding tomorrow?
I've got my DVR all set.

With matching bottoms of course.

Anywho, I'm excited for days at the river and gettin' all tanned uppp.

Oh, and wouldn't this be nice?

I think that chair has my name on it.
Hey, a girl can dream right?

my weekend in pictures

I did a whole lot this weekend.
And then I did a whole bunch of nothing important.

I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

A night on the town in Portland! I wish I had more pictures on my camera because it was a fun night, but this is what I've got to show you.

I wish I could say this was my bed. Because I spent a whole lot of time sleeping in mine after our girls night.

I took the best bath. No this isn't my bathtub with the cool floating lights...but I did light some candles!

homework. blah. nuff said.

Spent some time reading this fantastic book. I HIGHLY recommend it.

I also cleaned, ate, worked out [luckily...] and spent most of my time in sweats. None of that seems picture-worthy right now, but it was definitely awesome.

I hope that you had a fabulous weekend! :)

thai chicken: check!

Last night was my turn to make dinner.
[not really. I totally volunteered]
Those domestic skills of mine are growing. I decided to make thai chicken and broccoli for dinner and macaroons for dessert.
Chicken: FABULOUS.
Macaroons: not so much...

Take a peek!

I may or may not have shed a couple of tears in the process of making this meal.
[not just from the onions either!]
I totally didn't even have the noodles for the chicken and was so flustered and had to run to the store in the middle of my cooking.
[I'm a baby...]
Clearly, I am always prepared for everything.
But it turned out delicious and then after I had a nice helping (and the parents had seconds), I went for a run and watched the biggest loser.
[love that show!]

Tonight I have a hot date.
Yep, you heard me.
I've got a date with my nail polish, the bath tub and the fabulous book I'm reading.
[It's called Captured by Grace. check it.]

Have a great night dears!

tag!...I'm it!

Alright friends, here it is. My girl Hilary over at the Young and Naive tagged me in the handwriting game. Here's how it goes:
There are 8 questions and you have to write the answers down on a piece of
paper and flaunt that penmanship to all readers. Now let's be honest here- I have never been
a huge fan of my handwriting. Oh well, now it's out there for you to see!

The questions:

1. Name/blog name
2. Blog URL
3. Copy "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog"
4. Favorite quote
5. Favorite song
6. Something you say all the time
7. Favorite artist or band
8. Friends whose handwriting you'd like to see!

Answers:

- Eva

Lets go girls! And don't forget to link back to me here!

By the way, my body is mad at me because I haven't been giving it very good rest lately.
I could really use one of these suckers.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

mhmm Thursday...

{shirt & jeans: AE, cami: aero, shoes: vans, bracelet: gift}

I really like Thursdays. It's awesome knowing that you are almost done with the week and there is some sense of accomplishment and a little bit of a refreshing feeling when it's over.
I have a little confession though...I totally skipped one of my classes this morning.
I had a really long last couple days so I treated myself to a slow morning and lots of sleep :)
[sometime's you just have to do what you have to do]

By the way, I'm so excited because tomorrow I get to go back to the hospital and work!

today's guilty pleasure pastime

{sweater: j.crew, shirt: charlotte ruse, jeans: pacsun, boots: can't remember}

My day has been fairly slow, with only 1 class and a 4 hour break until work. So naturally
I came to the nearest bookstore to relax and hangout..ya know get some good reading in.
[and of course blogging.]
Not gonna lie, I have a guilty pleasure.
[actually I have a lot of those...]
But right now, the newest People Magazine has caught my eye and yes, I am going to read it.
[don't pretend that you don't have the urge once in a while too!]
So now I should probably go get my coffee and read it.

See ya tomorrow friends!
ps. follow my blog on here and on facebook! I will be having a fun giveaway in a few weeks!

I like food

{boots: can't remember, jeans: AE, jacket: borrowed, bracelets: aero, ring: gift}

I feel like I scored on having a nearly perfect weekend.
I got all moved in and settled back at home.
I got to sew with my mom and a dear friend of mine.
I got to have a girl's night and perfect time with my bestie.
I got to go to church (so good) and shopping!
And then...

I got to go to the grocery store.
[not a big fan of that place, especially on a Sunday]
But today I realized while I was there just how much I love food and I seriously wanted everything in sight. My mom and I came home with way too much
[thanks to me who kept throwing stuff in the cart]
and didn't even have enough room to put it all away. Wow.
Oh, and this is after I had a delicious caramel apple from the mall. haha.
And tonight we are having enchiladas!
Perfect weekend. Perfect way to end a wonderful break.

School starts back up tomorrow...maybe I'll see ya then. But chances are that I will already be falling behind somehow.

FUH-REEDOM!

{shoes: vans, leggings: maurices, shirt: old navy, jacket: jc pennys}

Oh that's right baby- as of 1 hour ago it's SPRING BREAK! I am insanely/ridiculously/wayyyy too excited!
I got home and threw that backpack into a corner and won't touch it again for a week and a half.

I have so so sooo many to-dos over break.
1. write some much needed letters to family out of state
2. read a couple books I've been dying to get my hands on
3. catch up with some friends I haven't seen in a while
4. go shopping!
5. make some crafts [can't wait]
6. relax
7. relax
8. [did I say relax yet?]

What are you doing over break?

fabs & flops #3

Yes folks it's FRIDAY!
[hallelujah. I would die without this day]
So we're back again for another fabs & flops!
[it's been a long week. pardon me if this seems totally unrelevant to you.]

Flops:
-it was dead week [nuff said]
-eating a giant greasy meal to satisfy my empty stomach only to get sick from it later
-the earthquake in Japan :(
-michelle's totally fake feel-sorry-for-me performance on the bachelor
-finding out the hard way that a pair of my boots are no longer weather proof in the rain
-studying my life away. [everywakingminute]
Fabs:
-getting 2 finals done!
-getting my haircut
-going home to spend time with my dad
-watching glee with my brother
-getting a whole bunch of new recipes from my dear friend Corinne [I will try to post some!]
-finishing up the most pointless class I've ever taken
-getting to go to work
-roommate found a dining table
-hearing that grandma is getting better
Tell me some of your fabs & flops! Leave a comment!
Tonight I plan to go home and sit. and do nothing.
[that would be such a bad idea, but it sounds so nice]
In reality I will probably try to finish up a project or two, but my goal is to really relax and let my mind unwind, maybe snuggle under a blanket and watch a movie. I need it.
[I'm definitely thinking a feel-good chick flick. any suggestions?]

sunday's revelation

First of all I would like to send out a great big thank you to Frills for Thrills for featuring me in her latest post!
It was so much fun and great blogging opportunity!
[thank you Frills!]

Today is what I like to call a very lazy day. I have done nothing worth mentioning really.
[ya know..just watched 3 movies and laid in bed since I've been sick..]
But I've been thinking a lot lately about how much of a difference I want to make and the impact I want to have. I have started reading
[again]
the Purpose Driven Life- such a great book! I would highly recommend it. Anyway, some stuff has been going on in my life lately
[both good! and bad]
that has made me want to dig deeper into my purpose here on earth and how I can further better God's kingdom. Remember how I told you I have some good news here? Well, I am super excited about it! And then yesterday I kind of got blind-sided by some things and it made me question a lot about why I am here and why bad things have to happen. I have been having to constantly tell myself God is in control and nothing and no one can change that. So needless to say, even in the last 24 hours God has been faithful to soften my heart and attitude to
one that desires to focus on Him and not on the bad things. This is huge for me people. I tend
to worry a lot and when I worry I can easily become consumed by the problem or even begin to make up bad scenarios in my head and worry about those.
[how silly.]
As a dear friend of mine who is now with Jesus once told me
"Don't look at bad things as problems, they are opportunities. Opportunities to become closer to God and to become a stronger person."
[don't you just love that?!]
So folks, I am declaring right here that those things will not consume me and I will choose instead to trust in the Lord. Besides, I am not going to let those things take away the happiness I got with all my good news this week! :)
Oh, I guess I should share that. I won't share all of it though.
[ya know, that way you'll come back!]
I am so excited and blessed to have the opportunity to work at the hospital for my practicum this spring! I went there on Friday to talk with them about my hours and asked the gal if I would be able to do a summer internship and she said
YES!!!
I am so excited! This has been my dream for so long and now I can finally see the light at the end of the school tunnel. :) Praise God, right?!

[via]

I want to leave you with some happy thoughts. So here you go!

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3: 5-6

I hope you have had a happy weekend
[and maybe a lazy sunday like me!]
God bless!

tropical dream

The cold weather is really getting to me. and this sunshine tease is definitely not helping.

This is where I'd just love to get away :) I think it's time for a vacation.
